Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept Insurance?
Intrinsic Wellness is a fee-for-service based practice, meaning it is NOT contracted with any insurance carriers - allowing the clinical freedom to treat a wide range of psychiatric conditions using an integrative approach.
HSA/FSA payments are accepted for eligible medical services. If your treatment qualifies, you may use your HSA card or submit for reimbursement. We provide detailed receipts (superbills) upon request detailing the necessary diagnostic and procedural (CPT) codes, should you chose to submit this to your insurance carrier for “Out of Network” reimbursements.
Appointments are conducted via telemedicine using HIPPA-compliant software with SimplePactice

Can you prescribe medication?
Yes. As a licensed Physician Assistant (PA-C), I can evaluate your mental health and prescribe medication when appropriate. All medication recommendations are made collaboratively, with your goals and overall wellbeing in mind.
What is a Physician Assistant (PA)?
A Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed medical professional who practices medicine under the supervision of a physician. PAs are trained to conduct psychiatric and medical evaluations, diagnose and treat mental health conditions, prescribe medications when appropriate, and provide counseling and therapy support. They work collaboratively with other healthcare providers to ensure safe, evidence-based, and personalized care. At Intrinsic Wellness, I provide psychiatric care, medication management, and holistic support as a PA-C, ensuring that your treatment is professional, compassionate, and tailored to your needs. Many people aren’t familiar with PAs, but research shows that care from PAs is equally safe and effective as care from physicians within their scope of practice.
What is a CAQ (Certificate of Added Qualification) in Psychiatry?
It is an advanced credential available to PAs who have developed specialized experience and education in mental health care. Awarded by the NCCPA, the CAQ recognizes additional training, clinical practice hours, and continuing education in psychiatry. It reflects focused knowledge in areas such as psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and the treatment of mental health conditions.
